I wish I was better at drawing.
When I was little,
my momma tried to get me to take art lessons.
At the time,
art wasn't my main interest,
so I didn't take the classes.
As I look back,
I really wish I had.
I would love to be able to write and draw pretty.
Maybe I will take a class now...
It's never too late.
Especially since I'm only 13!
Sorry,
I just needed to give myself a quick pep talk.
Now on to my mini chalkboard!
I found this ugly wooden thing at Goodwill.
I guess this was the style at some point?
I really liked the wood base,
but I wasn't very fond of the geese...
So, I changed it!
I gathered my supplies...
-wood base
(There is always one at Goodwill!)
-paintbrush
-chalkboard paint
-sandpaper
-fabric flowers
(Any embellishment's would work, but you can learn how to make the flowers here.)
I sanded the wood base,
so I could have a smooth surface to paint on.
I painted it.
I had to do two coats!
Then I waited for it to dry...
Once it dried,
I hot glued the flowers on.
I also added a green burlap leaf.
It ended up looking really cute in my room!
Y'all have fun crafting,
Daisy

The chalkboard is precious! I really wish that I could wear that outfit because I am in love with that Vineyard Vines skirt!
ReplyDeleteGreat remake on the ugly Goodwill wall hanging! And from my favorite store too! Love seeing the outfits you put together. All my clothing comes from thrift stores! And yes, take those art lessons, you're good now, you'll be awesome soon!
