4th of July Drink Decor

Believe it or not,
I am not a big fan of fireworks.
They are loud,
Expensive,
And plain out annoying when your trying to sleep at night.
With this said,
The 4th of July night is not my favorite night.
BUT,
I love everything else about the 4th of July!
I love the cookouts,
The clothes,
The decorations,
And the freedom that we celebrate!
This year,
I want to make our 4th of July party adorable!
( Without fireworks. )
So I began by making the drinks adorable!

Sweet Stitched Wall Art

This morning I woke up at 5 o'clock,
And couldn't go back to sleep.
Ugh.
Oh well,
To look on the bright side of things,
I got my blog post done early!
I had planned my post for today late yesterday afternoon.
So I got out of bed,
And headed to my front porch swing to start on it.

Vintage Fabric Banner

Right now,
I'm hitting 2 birds with one stone.
Babysitting and blogging.
I'm cradling a sleeping baby boy with one hand,
And typing today's post with the other.
As I continue to type this post excessively slow,
I want to share with you my latest creation!
( Even though it might take me a while! )

Mini Chalkboard

I wish I was better at drawing.

When I was little,

my momma tried to get me to take art lessons.

At the time,

art wasn't my main interest,

so I didn't take the classes.

As I look back,

I really wish I had.

I would love to be able to write and draw pretty.

Maybe I will take a class now...

It's never too late.

Especially since I'm only 13!

Sorry,

I just needed to give myself a quick pep talk.

Now on to my mini chalkboard!

Fabric Flower Headband

I call my style "vintage cuteness".
(Yes, I made that name up.)
I also like a hint of the hipster look.
I love chevron, the color mint, and burlap.
To fit my playful style,
I made myself a headband.
I call it my "hippie headband."

DIY Book Page Flowers

My family has 2 bloggers in the house.
My momma and me.
(Go look at my mom's cute blog here.)
(It's called DaisyMaeBelle.)
Two bloggers are a good thing,
except for the fact that we only have 1 laptop,
and 1 nice camera.
It's a constant struggle to get our hands on what we need for our posts.
So, as I have the laptop in my possession,
I'm gonna show you how to to make easy book page flowers!

Vintage Typewriter

I wish the charm of the "olden days" would come back.
Women would still wear dresses and floppy hats.
Boys would work hard on the farm,
while girls cooked in the kitchen.
When it was time to write a letter,
you wouldn't send an email.
You would sit down to your typewriter. . .
I can imagine the bell ringing,
 and the keys clicking.
To bring some charm into my room,
I added my great-grandmothers typewriter.

DIY Welcome Sign

I am very Southern when it comes to welcomes.
I am fond of them whether it's a big wreath on the front door,
or a sweet grandma knitting on the porch swing.
With this said,
I figured I needed a welcome to my bedroom.
I didn't want a full wreath on my door,
but a small silver platter was perfect.

Brother Photo Session

I shared with you a few days ago, my dream of becoming a photographer.
I think it would make a lovely job.
Recently,
to my excitement,
I was asked to have a "mini photo session"!
I was honored to be able to take pictures of these sweet boys!

Vintage Tennis Racket Photo Display

I have never had much interest in the game of tennis.
I wish I had an interest in it...
but I don't.
I love the way tennis players dress.
I love the "preppy" feel of the game.
I just think it would be cute to play tennis.
I came up with the perfect addition for a tennis player's room.

How To Print Instagram Photos

One day,
I am going to live in a quaint cottage on a farm,
and own a small photography business on the town square.
I will have big, Southern meals prepared for my family for dinner.
My boys will fish all day long by the pond,
and my girls will cook along my side.
I will ride my vintage bike up to the square,
so I can meet up with my photography clients.
I just love the thought of it.
In order to prepare for my future photography business,
I like to practice taking pictures on Instagram.
I found out a cheap, easy way to print out my Instagram pictures...

My Room

Several people have asked me to post pictures of my room.
My room was decorated on a tight budget.
It is full of yard-sale treasures, hand-me downs, and Goodwill finds.
The tight budget forced me to be creative,
so I ended up with a room full of character.

Stamp Storage

As you know by now,
I love to make crafts using household finds.
I use cereal boxes, scrap pieces of fabric and wood, cans, or mason jars.
I love to make ordinary...
 extraordinary.
It really is a beautiful thing to turn unwanted objects into valuable treasures.

Old Door Photo Display

Instagram and old doors are my weaknesses.
I had to find a way to pull them together...
This past week, I went to a graduation party.
All the graduates set up a little area to represent a bit about their life.
I looked around, and I spotted a rather creative display.
She had her Instagram pictures clipped on twine!
Immediately, I thought of my old door at home,
which I had bought at a yard sale for $10 not too long ago.
Wouldn't it look precious if I had my Instagram photos hanging on it?!
This is the finished product...

My Mini Town

This past week was a full on adventure.
My dad and I spent 3 days at Disney World.
We were what you call "those" Disney fanatics.
We were at every park when the gates opened, and stayed 'til their latest hours. We got fast pass, after fast pass.
We hit it hard.
As much fun as the trip was,
I am happy to return to my peaceful hometown.
As I sit here on the plane writing this post,
I'm so excited to share with you my latest project!
This is mainly a fun way for you to release your inner creativity!
There is no tutorial,
 just a bit of inspiration.
I call it my "mini town".
